Seek App Redesign
The app “Seek” by iNaturalist allows users to take pictures and identify different types of plants and animals while creating a crowdsourced database for researchers to study from.
App Re-Design
In this app redesign, I prioritized access to information, ensuring that layouts were clean, and that the app could be easily viewed outside with the sun reflecting off the screen. Choosing predominantly white backgrounds help reduce screen reflection and increases the legibility of the information on screen.
I polished up the alignment of assets, and replaced confusing colour choices, such as green “do not eat” signs. Moving to more square photo frames over circular allows for more of the photo to be shown.
The photo button is carried through all screens and extends from the dock to make it easier to access. When photographing wildlife, fumbling to access the camera can result in a missed opportunity.
