About
Hi, I’m Joe.
I am a graphic designer and photographer from Vancouver, BC. After earning my degree in Kinesiology, I realized that I was passionate about being more creative in my day-to-day life. Using my skills in photography, I began to create content for brands.
As my experience grew, so did my desire to explore new methods for creating content. Graphic design seemed like a natural progression, so I enrolled in BCIT’s Graphic Design program. At the same time, I began working at Special Olympics BC as a Communications Coordinator. My position grew to include Graphic Design, and I am now the lead designer for the organization.
The majority of my work consists of developing branding, social media assets, forms, templates and web graphics. My communications and design work services the needs of the provincial office, as well as 55 community chapters in British Columbia.
Between work and school, there was a lot of creative work to be done. The fact that I continue to wake up excited to work confirms that I made the right decision to pursue my passion.
Throughout my creative journey, I discovered an affinity for branding, illustrations, and digital asset creation. I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of graphic design, working with clients to create attractive assets that prioritize clear delivery of their message. I believe design plays a crucial role in communication, whether we notice it or not, which is where my fascination for the profession began.
My insatiable curiosity means that I am always looking for ways to expand my skills and sources of inspiration. Recently, I find myself studying UI and environmental design because I enjoy the challenge of simplicity and clear communication. I love what I do, and I hope that my work can help you communicate the things that you are passionate about.
Cheers!
